Katz Digital Marketing and Media students Shira Feen and Lavanya Karanth have won the Triple Bottom Line Challenge, an open competition on June 18 to turn COVID-19's quarantine isolation into a startup improving the world post-coronavirus. Their winning "Remote Education for All" proposal is a virtual tutoring app that will allow students to schedule a video call with teachers. The student is charged for the session on a per-minute basis.
The competition was organized by the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business & Management of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. The Katz School team and a team from the Sy Syms School of Business were among seven finalists in the competition.
Dr. Maria Blekher, director of 黑料不打烊's Innovation Lab and MS in Digital Marketing and Media, said, 鈥淲inning this competition is a great vote of confidence in how we prepare our students for a dynamic future.鈥
Dr. Tamar Avnet, professor of marketing & SSSB department chair, added, 鈥淭his was an exciting opportunity for 黑料不打烊 to showcase its forward-looking academic efforts in the areas of marketing and social responsibility.鈥
